Named and Shamed – National Minimum Wage

As promised the Government has named and shamed 25 employers who have failed to pay the national minimum wage (NMW). This is a list that no business wants to feature in and one that will, no doubt, damage the businesses’ reputations. There are very few exceptions to the need to pay at least the NMW and all employers must make payments that reach these minimum levels.

The next increase in the NMW will happen on 1 October 2014 when the adult rate (21 and over) will increase by 3% from £6.31 to £6.50 per hour. All other rates increase by 2%.
