Tax breaks for firms that fight obesity

gymThe Chief Executive of NHS England is calling for tax breaks for businesses who encourage their employees to slim down.

Obesity is “the new smoking” and threatens to bankrupt the health service says Simon Stevens the Head of the NHS. In a forthcoming report on the future of the NHS he will be suggesting tax breaks for employers who introduce weight loss programmes, cycle schemes and other efforts to keep people healthy at work.

The report is due out next month.
